Hello.

I’m Jeremy Sklarsky. I’m an audio engineer/musician turned software developer, husband, and father of two. But you’re probably here because I like to make stuff out of wood.

It started with one pandemic DIY project…

…gutting a closet and putting in some shelves for a small pantry. Soon after that, I was refurbishing stuff from IKEA and building simple furniture for around the house and yard.

I started to take on some more ambitious projects too. I made birdhouses for my neighbors that looked exactly like their houses.

Next up were things like coasters and cutting boards, made as gifts for friends and family as I was looking for an excuse to take on more projects

Then I redid our bathroom, cause at this point why not?

Built that vanity too, out of walnut. The guy at one of the wood shops tried to talk me out of it because my “table saw isn’t good enough to be precise and you probably won’t save much money doing it yourself.”

So obviously I had to. It’s the first thing I’ve built AT someone.

Soon, I had taken over the carport with a growing collection of tools and project scraps. This mobile workshop needed to grow out of its temporary home and find something more permanent, or the whole operation was at risk of getting shut down.

I had the brilliant idea that my brother (one of many) and I could build a shed as a workshop at the height of COVID, when a box of screws could cost as much as six thousand dollars.

Check out The Shed to see construction pics from building the workshop.
